 “The Trip of a Lifetime!!!”

Tentative!!!!!!!!!!

 

Depart from Fort Smith to Dallas or Kansas City or both. We will try to raise money for charter buses. If not it may be school buses. We will leave very early on June 7th or very late on June 6th. 

 

DAY ONE / JUNE 7 / THURSDAY / Arrival, Lei greeting, check-in, Pizza Party

 

All depart   for Honolulu, Hawaii.  Upon arrival, get our first experience of the Aloha Spirit with a traditional fresh flower lei greeting.  After identification of luggage board buses for transfer to the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel located at 240 Kalakaua Avenue:  Local phone number (808) 922-4422.  (luggage will be delivered to rooms by hotel porters).  Everyone is free to enjoy the beach and hotel area until the orientation.

 

TTBA PM      (Subject to actual flight arrival times) Meet in the lobby for a short walk to the Aloha Orientation Pizza Dinner and Briefing.   Get ready for some Hula Lessons along the way!!!

DAY TWO / JUNE 8 / FRIDAY / SECRET ISLAND, BLOCK PARTY

 

700AM            Good morning!! No, you’re not dreaming…we’re still in paradise!!   The biggest decision we’ll have to make is what to eat for breakfast.  Breakfast at Hard Rock Café

 

800AM           Start our adventure with the Grand Alii Tour, a narrated drive across the Koolau Mountains to the tropical Windward side of O’ahu. Includes brief stop at the Nuuanu Pali Lookout.

900AM           We are met by our guide, a Polynesian Chief, who will share some of the customs and cultures of the native islanders.  We’ll enjoy an educational stroll through botanical gardens and learn to make fire from sticks, husk and open a coconut and much, much more. 

1030AM         It’s not over…. Imagine boarding a raft to access our secluded getaway to Secret Island.   Watch out for the live barracuda!  The tour includes “fun in the sun” at a private island for the day to include volleyball, canoeing, kayaking, horseshoes, badminton, sunbathing, lazin’ in hammock and more!  Also included is a barbeque lunch of chicken and hotdogs and all the trimmings!  

 

2:30PM           Visit the Dole Pineapple Plantation

 

3:30PM           Return to hotel for afternoon at leisure for beach, shopping, etc.

 

700PM            The party continues as we experience the Ho’olaule’a Block Party – multiple entertainment stages featuring cultural performances along Kalakaua Avenue.  A true cultural awakening.

DAY THREE / JUNE 9 / SATURDAY / PEARL HARBOR, ALII KAI DINNER CRUISE

 

700AM           Breakfast at Shore Bird’s

 

830AM           Board buses for transfer to Pearl Harbor to see where history was made. On the way we’ll drive pass the Iolani Palace—the only royal palace on American soil, the King Kamehameha Statue, Hawaii State Capitol, and through China Town. 

 

At the Pearl Harbor’s  U.S.S. Bowfin, we’ll go below deck to wind our way through the narrow compartments where the Bowfin’s crew worked, ate and slept though nine harrowing war patrols.  You will learn about the Bowfin, which served with great distinction in WWII and earned her nickname “The Pearl Avenger.”

 

1030AM  Pearl Harbor Remember the Heroes Performance Time: You are now officially a part of history!  Fort Smith Southside Spotlight Performance at the Pearl Harbor Visitors Center is followed by a Wreath Ceremony, and a Flag and Trophy Presentation.

 

After our performance we will have lunch and tour the Bowfin Visitor Center.

 

Next we head over to the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial Visitor Center and experience the film “Pearl Harbor Story”, the visitor center museum, boarding a Navy launch and entering the memorial.  We will witness the actual sunken hull where over 1000 servicemen were entombed during the December 7, 1941 sneak attack on Pearl Harbor.  Tour times will be as follows:

430PM            Group will meet at the lobby to board bus for a dinner cruise aboard the Alii Kai Catamaran, the largest Hawaiian catamaran in the world.  Enjoy one of the best local buffets.  Witness the most beautiful shoreline in the world as well as the sunset along Waikiki.  The cruise turns into a giant dance party until we hit the dock.

DAY FOUR / JUNE 10 / SUNDAY / PAN PACIFIC PARADE / SENOR FROGS DINNER PARTY

 

730AM           Breakfast at Hard Rock Cafe

 

Optional activities will be offered such as:

Snorkeling ($20.00 Note: Does not include the $7.50 admission which is paid directly at gate), Dolphin Encounter (starting from $99.00 & up), Golf (starting from $120.00 & up), Fishing Charters, East Oahu Tour ($40.00) and more… Details and cost for pre-signups will be provided prior to group arrival.  Please note:  Detailed descriptions and pricing will be available prior to tour departure for early registrations.

 

*Featured Optional Activity – Snorkel at one of the most beautiful spots our Planet Earth has to offer!  Hanauma Bay is a protected wildlife refuge where fish will actually swim up and eat out of your hands...and we're not talking minnows!!!! Snorkel gear and instruction included.  Allow approximately 4 hours for activity.      *Also offered on Monday for parent s and students not going to the big island

 

Lunch on your own with an afternoon at leisure.  Free time for beach, shopping , etc.

 

330PM            Short walk to Fort DeRussey and prepare for our participation in the Pan Pacific Parade.

 

500PM            Pan Pacific Parade Step Off.

 

730PM            Dinner Party at Senor Frogs.

DAY FIVE / JUNE 11 / MONDAY / DAY AT LEISURE / OPTIONAL ACTIVITY DAY

 

AT LEISURE           Breakfast at Shorebird Oceanfront Restaurant

 

Optional activities will be offered such as:

One Day Neighbor Island Tours – includes flight and buses to the big island of Hawaii - ($289.00), Snorkeling, Dolphin Encounter, Golf, Fishing Charters, East Oahu Tour and more… Details and cost for pre-signups will be provided prior to group arrival.

 

Lunch on own.

 

6:00PM           Dinner tonight at Hard Rock.

 

DAY SIX / JUNE 12 / TUESDAY / NORTH SHORE

 

800AM           Breakfast at Hard Rock Cafe

 

830AM                       Start stretching as we prepare to hike about 3/4 of a mile to the 760 foot summit of the most recognized mountain in the world - Diamond Head Crater!  Bring your camera for a fantastic 360 degree view of the southeast coast!  Below, we'll see the lighthouse, coral reefs, sailboats, and even surfers on the waves at Diamond Head Beach!  Return to hotel approx 12 noon                  

 

Lunch on own.  Afternoon at leisure.

 

430PM            Go Native!   Become a part of “America’s Best Luau” as filmed by ABC’s Good Morning America.  Feel like “one of the family” at Germaine’s Luau as you learn to dance the popular Hukilau hula.  Help yourself to a 16-course, ALL YOU CAN EAT buffet of traditional Island dishes and continental cuisine (for you less adventurous eaters)  Return to hotel at approx. 10:30pm.

DAY SEVEN / JUNE 13/ WEDNESDAY / DEPARTURE DAY

 

800AM           Breakfast at Hard Rock Cafe

 

This is your last day to catch some rays, do last minute shopping or whatever. Later today, you’ll be getting your luggage ready inside the hotel room door for pick-up by the hotel porters.

 

1200PM          Then, comes the complete check-out procedure.  Bring all carry-on items to designated area for storage and turn in keys at front desk.

 

TTBA             Board motor coaches for Honolulu International Airport and prepare for departure.

DAY EIGHT / JUNE 14 / THURSDAY / THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME!

 

This concludes the trip, but we’re sure that you’ll have some new friendships, have been touched by the many diverse customs and cultures, and have experiences and fond memories to last a lifetime!!!

If you want to stay longer or any other trip departure that will be set up with the tour company we are using (Hawaii State Tours). If you wish to use frequent flier miles or set up your own flight you can choose to pat for just the ground package.

On days 4 & 5 optional activities are offered.

Parents and students will be places on the same flights.

Breakfast is optional on days 2, 4, 5, 6, &7. Breakfast is required on day 3. You have paid for it, it is your choice to use it.

Some meals are covered, some are on your own.

All baggage fees for airlines will be paid by each individual person.

There will be a $250 non-refundable deposit due on September 6th. Payments will be October 14, November 18, February 10, March 9, and April 13.

Fundraisers: Band Queen (biggest one), cheesecakes – 45% of pre tax profit, possibly – carwash, discount card sale
